The streets and theaters in Daehangno and Jongno areas are currently bustling with visitors day and night due to Welcome Daehak-ro, an annual performing arts festival. The festival features performances of diverse genres ranging from non-verbal and traditional performances to musicals and plays until October 27. A total of 70 performances are prepared, including noteworthy productions like the musical “Let’s Dance Crazy,” theatrical play “Liar,” and non-verbal performance “Jump,” as well as programs like Welcome Theater Relay Show and the foreigner-exclusive special performance “Sejong, 1446.”
Translation and interpretation services are offered for the convenience of international visitors. In addition to eight performances that provide subtitles in English, Japanese, and Chinese, visitors can also pick up a festival program book printed in the aforementioned languages at the ticket booth. Interpreters will also be available at the ticket booth to assist with ticketing and provide performance information.
The Welcome Theater Relay Show takes place at YES 24 Stage’s 2nd Theater in Daehangno. The event features popular musicals, dance, and non-verbal performances every day until the last day of the festival. As for “Sejong, 1446,” a special theatrical play targeted at the international audience, subtitles are provided in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Moreover, a special meeting with the performers takes place after the show for an unforgettable memory. Special open-air performances will also take place around the streets of Daehangno and Jongno.
Performance tickets can be purchased on-site at the Welcome Daehak-ro ticket booth or online via Interpark Ticket and YES24 websites.
